This is AWESOME stuff. What an experience to have....such nostalgia!!

I'd love to see what a couple of these cars bring at a Barrett Jackson auction...

Speaking of Barrett Jackson..I heard they are auctioning off Corvette serial #1 soon (that or Mecum)

I don't recall exactly how my brother found out about the jobs for the race. Hard to believe that was 42 years ago. We got free admission if we worked the race by taking info written on paper from the pits to the officials somewhere else. Since too many kids were hired they just let us keep the pit passes and we didn't have to do any work. We slept in my friend's stationwagon on the infield. Back then they allowed us to get very close to cars. I don't think I had a telephoto lens, I was using my friend's Dad's camera which probably had a 50 mm lens.

KOA,

For the Shelby guys that will be visiting, this is like finding gold in your backyard. Maybe better, a GT40

I posted about the race at AV123 quite awhile ago but didn't realize I still had the slides.

I remember the Ford dealer near my house in Florida back in 1967 had a Ford GT 40 on the showroom floor for sale. It was around $10,000. Also had a couple of Cobras in the $5000. range.

The pigs have moved to the other side of the house more in the forest. I had to move the cage to repair the concrete stairway since it was so undermined I was afraid it would cave in. Yesterday there were about 8 roaming around down below but hard to see and get a shot because of the vegetation. Still trying...

These slides are in pretty bad shape, using color and back light correction along with dust removal so some look a little odd.

Chaparral (2-D) Bob Johnson/Bruce Jennings drivers.

Ford GT MkII coming in

...and leaving pits.

Ferrari P4 2nd place

One more batch to scan but I think the best have been posted.
